Chamber of Commerce

The County's Chamber of Commerce has been promoting trade, lobbying for members' interests and organising training since 1832, and continually strives to represent the interests of its members in both Westminster and Brussels. The chamber helps businesses – from sole traders to established firms employing hundreds.

It provides easy access to help, advice, support and growth opportunities. Among the benefits enjoyed by its 1,600 member businesses is the Chamber Connect membership card, which allows members to obtain preferential rates from local businesses, connect with other businesses across the Chamber of Commerce network and get discounted rates on business facilities.

It is also a powerful lobbying organisation, working with its members to identify barriers to doing business locally, nationally and internationally and influence policy makers in central and local government and the EU. The chamber is independent from government or political influence and has regular contact with local authorities, the media, regional agencies, MPs, ministers and MEPs.

Ross town's own smaller chamber of commerce also helps small businesses. It is keen to support home based as well as traditional businesses. It is closely involved in the town centre free wifi scheme.
