Go Ape Rope Course

Situated at Mallards Pike Lake in the Forest of Dean, the award-winning Go Ape is a one off experience - a network of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and zip slides high up in the trees. Participants are given a harness and instructions before setting off for the three-hour adventure of navigating from tree to tree.

Established in 2001, the company has a deal with the Forestry Commission allowing it to open it sites, and works closely with conservationists and arborculturists to make sure that each course has the lowest possible impact on the forest. It also puts in place rigorous tree maintenance programmes to make sure the trees are able to grow unrestricted.

The minimum age for Go Ape is 10, and under-18s need to be accompanied by an adult. There's also food available, including forest barbeques and picnic lunches, as well as mountain bike treks and outdoor games. Go Ape sites have been used for corporate days by companies as diverse as HMV, Unilever, Virgin and the Environment Agency.
